Education: BA from Carnegie Mellon, a graduate certificate from San Jose State University, and an MFA in Theatrical Lighting Design from San Diego State University.
Awards including "Best Lighting Design" from: Stage Scene LA, Playbill Magazine, KPBS, LA Stage Alliance, LA Drama Critics Circle, Hitting the Stage, and the Hawaii State Theatre Council.
Teaching history includes the American Red Cross, Sacred Heart Schools (K-12), Teaching assistant at San Diego State University, Visiting artist at California State University-San Bernardino, Lecturer and Technical Director at Texas A&M University and most recently Assistant Professor at University of Hawaii - Manoa.

Professional credits include work at Chicago Shakespeare Theatre, NYC International Fringe Festival, San Diego Dance Company, California Center for the Arts, Armstrong/Bergeron Dance Company, The Old Globe Theatre, Chance Theatre, Sledgehammer Theatre, Manoa Valley Theatre, Disneyland Resorts, Royal Caribbean Cruises, and Walt Disney Imagineering.
In my theatre career I’ve been an actor, director, stage manager, technical director, designer, rigger, carpenter and electrician. Now I’m the Director of the Design Program at UH and a professor of lighting, sound, projection and special effects. E kuleana ko'u i kehaku kukui uila a me kekani.
